VIDEO: Arnautovic reveals when he will be back in a West Ham shirt after shock contract extension

Marko Arnautovic will now remain with West Ham for the time being after signing a contract extension.

The Austrian’s future has dominated talk in east London over the past few weeks after his brother and agent Danijel stated that he wanted to leave the London Stadium.

Arnautovic was subject of a bid from an unnamed Chinese Super League side but it was rejected by the Hammers.

Having performed a U-turn on Friday by claiming he is committed to the club, the ex-Stoke City man has now extended his current deal, although the Hammers have not disclosed any contract details.

Last featuring in the 1-0 victory over Arsenal earlier this month, the attacker sent a message to fans and stated that he would be back to face Wolves on Tuesday evening.

“Hi West Ham fans, finally you hear me talking,” he said. “I’m back, I’m happy to be back and I’m happy for my decision that I’ve made.

“I’m very happy.

“I can’t wait to play again in front of you guys because I love to play at London Stadium, I love to play in front of you, I love to play with my teammates.

“I will be back on Tuesday at Wolverhampton away and I will be back to do everything for you guys.

“So, listen what this club or myself are saying, don’t listen to the other people who are not in the club.

“All the best, see you soon.”

Arnautovic explained in a further interview with the club’s official website that he loves the club and the fans are a key reason why he has decided to stay.

“The fans gave me the power, they gave me the energy and that’s why I have to be here and that’s why I want to stay,” he said.
