She returned to Nairobi’s satellite town of Rongai where she stayed with her adopted daughter, a class eight pupil.

But unknown to her, a love affair between the young girl and a boy of her age would soon land Achieng’ in jail.

Sophie, the mother to the boy opposed the relationship and reportedly took on Achieng’ to scatter the apparent love affair.

“She came to the salon with police officers who ordered the hair-dryer switched off. They then took me to the police and on the way, I called my mum.

“When my mum asked why I had been arrested, she was told that I had defiled a minor,” Achieng’ stated.

On denying the charges in court, the woman indicates that she was remanded for several months.

The plaintiff nevertheless failed to show up on several occasions when the case was mentioned.

“Sophie was given one final chance to show up in court but when she took the witness stand, she amazed the presiding judge by indicating that she had made false allegations and wanted to withdraw the case,” she added.

The Judge, however, indicated that owing to the magnitude of the charges, the case could not be withdrawn by an oral request but only through a written request by the Attorney General (AG).

How do you believe the DPP should give justice to this woman?
