2022 succession politics ends with building on fire &many injured in Siaya

Politics is such an addictive pill that once one adopts it refuses to leave their sytem no matter the consequences.Lots of ideologies concerning the 2022 general elections have been sparkingdebates at the corners of the country.

Despite the top leadership advice to shun away from succession politics, many are spreading the gospel that has seen some fires erupt due to political stands difference already.

In a recent battle,three suspects were Sunday arrested in connection with chaos that erupted in Siaya town on Saturday night leaving several people injured and property of unknown value destroyed.

The scuffle broke out after a group of youth differed about who would be the next area MP in 2022 between the current MP for Alego/Usonga Samuel Atandi and businessman Martin Otieno.

The fight began after a one of the youth, who was in favour of Mr. Otieno, pounced on a supporter of Mr. Atandi with kicks and blows before his colleagues joined the fight.

The situation, however, turned worse when one of the groups torched a hotel belonging to one of their rivals.

Confirming the incident, Siaya County Police Commander Ambrose Mwakawa said the suspects will be arraigned on Monday.
