Kenyan head of state Uhuru Kenyatta has today led a Kenyan delegation that included AU High envoy for Infrastructure and Development Raila Odinga to the inauguration of DR Congo’s President elect Felix Tshisekedi.

Wiper Democratic Movement Party boss Kalonzo Musyoka was also part of the delegation.

Others were Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and his Homa Bay counterpart Gladys Wanga along with senators Ledama Ole Kina (Narok) and Amos Wako (Busia).

Todays inauguration marks the first peaceful transition of power in the DR Congo.

This Comes after the Constitutional Court on Sunday declared Tshisekedi the ultimate winner of the disputed presidential elections after throwing out a legal challenge by the runner-up Martin Fayulu.

The court said the opposition leader won by a simple majority.

He will take over from long term leader Joseph Kabila.

Fayulu described the outcome of the December 30 vote as an “electoral coup” and urged the international community to reject the result.

Yesterday, Martin Fayulu took a swipe at African President’s that included President Kenyatta for encouraging Fraud and Lies.

“To African Presidents who ask the Congolese people to respect the “Constitutional Court”, I ask them to respect the sovereign decision of the Congolese people who elected me President with over 60% of the vote. Let’s not encourage fraud, lies and forgery,” he said.
