Morgan Heritage pays tribute to the legendary Oliver Mtukudzi

The music industry globally is  mourning the sudden death of Zimbabwean music legend Oliver Mtukudzi who succumbed to an ailment at a Harare hospital on Wednesday, January 23 at 66 years old.

Mtukudzi was rushed to hospital early this week after he was overwhelmed by an ailment.

Following his death,the reggae legendary group Morgan Heritage have share inspirational stories and his top achievements in the music industry.

Taking to their instagram account, Morgan Heritage described the late Tuku as a great musician who had a great impact in their singing career.

“We were privileged to share the stage with the great Tuku and had the honor of meeting him in person. He was a giant of singer/musician and so humble at the same time. We pray the legacy of this great singer/musician lives on forever. Our prayers go out to the family and friends of the LEGEND. #RIP Oliver Mtukudzi #Zimbabwe”

Apart from music,  Oliver Mtukudzi became a UNICEF Regional Goodwill Ambassador for Eastern and Southern Africa in 2011, focusing on young people’s development, and HIV and AIDS prevention.  He was also a champion to end child marriage.
