Supporters of Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa have hinted plans to hold peaceful demonstrations following her expulsion from ODM.
The MP together with Suleiman Dori of Msambweni were today expelled from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) following a decision by the party’s National Executive Council (NEC).
ODM’s National Executive Council on Thursday resolved to adopt a report by the party disciplinary committee which recommended the expulsion of the two lawmakers over alleged gross misconduct.
Supporters have planned to match all the way from malindi to kilifi town demonstrating peacefully against the expulsion of their Member of Parliament.
This move is to show their solidarity with Jumwa until Justice prevails.
Supporters have said that Jumwa is their leader, daughter and mother and they feel it is best to give her the support she needs.
Some have however shared their thought stating that the expulsion of two MPs might lead on to the end of their political careers.
A supporter took to social media to share their frustration saying that the MP has done so much good for the party and the expulsion was unfair.
Ms. Jumwa and Mr. Dori troubles began after they publicly declared their support for Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.
