Man Utd Working On LOAN Deals Before Deadline Day With More Movement Expected

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has moved to block loan moves that had been in place for some of the club’s highly rated youngsters.

The Norwegian remains keen to offer youth players hope of opportunities in the first team between now and the end of the season.

But now it looks as if some fringe players will be granted loan moves away before the window slams shut, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Matty Willock is one player that will be allowed to move following his return from St Mirren.

His United contract is set to expire at the end of the season meaning the club could cash in on him should they receive an offer.

The 22-year-old wants to stay in England after moves to Holland and Scotland with Utrecht, The Buddies and St Johnstone failed to live up to their billing.

Ethan Hamilton has joined Rochdale on loan while Regan Poole put pen to paper with Newport County last week.

Head of the academy Nicky Butt last year sent a word of warning to any youngsters keen to make the grade at Old Trafford.

“If players are not in or around the first team by 20, 21, they won’t make it here’,” he said.

“Player development is key. So we’ve got to send players out on loan or into the first-team.

“But if you can do both, have good groups that win games and competitions and get players into the first-team, it’s nirvana, if you like.”

“Some players will still go out on loan.”

Solskjaer has already offered hope for youngsters at the club.

He invited Gomes, Tahith Chong, James Garner and Mason Greenwood to the mid-season training camp in Dubai.

Gomes also featured in the Premier League triumph over Huddersfield.

Chong was handed his senior debut in the FA Cup win over Reading having previously been on the substitutes bench against Juventus last year.

Jose Mourinho also named Garner and Greenwood among the substitutes in the Champions League defeat to Valencia.
