The record holder and World Champion Eliud Kipchoge was nominated in the Laureus World Sportsman of the year.
Kipchoge was nominated along side big names: Lebron James ,Novac Djokovic,Lewis Hamilton, Luka Modric and Kylan Mbappe.

What raised controversy and debate from Kenyans is the picture they used for Kipchoge.
Compared to other pictures it was not well picked and Kenyans could not hold their horses. It raised harsh questions to the organisers.
As usuals Kenyans on Social media have a tendency of winning.
The organisers have since bowed to the pressure and changed the picture.
