Police investigators believe there might have been a seventh suspect in the early Tuesday afternoon attack , and who could be on the run because he was not captured by Secret Garden cameras .

Witnesses said the attackers gained entry to the DusitD2 hotel through the kitchen and started shooting as they pushed their way into the dining area.

After the siege yesterday, six bodies believed to be those of the terrorists remained in separate rooms in the luxury hotel frequented by high-profile Kenyans and foreigners as police used fingerprints to trace their origin.

Detectives in the investigation believe two of the suspects gunned down had crossed over to Somalia where they joined the Al-shabab terror group and received training.

“They converted to Islam recently and we believe they were brainwashed by al Shaabab,”

However, the 19 hours of terror, gunfire, bloodshed and confusion, at the DusitD2 hotel complex has revealed that two of the attackers are from Kiambu and Nyeri.

Investigators piecing together details noted that 26-year-old Eric Kinyanjui, who is said to come from Ngecha Village in Limuru, and Farouk, is reported to have been born and bred in Majengo slum in Nyeri.

Reports also show that of one of the suspected terrorists who was killed by security personnel at Dusit Complex lived at Guango Estate in Ruaka.Related image

According to some of the area’s residents who recognized his face after photos were circulated on social media, the suspect, who lived at house number E9, was laidback and no one really knew how he operated.

“He rented a house just under two months ago and he was very courteous.“Whenever he drove past me he would say hi,” revealed a neighbour.

Police had cordoned off the area surrounding his house and reports indicated that there was a drilled hole in his house.

It is believed that the deceased was well-off financially, considering the fact that the average rent in the area is Sh50,000.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday assured the nation that all the attackers had been killed and urged Kenyans to go back to work.

He condemned the cowardly act that claimed 14 lives but commended security forces for handling the situation with professionalism.
