13 more add to increasing number of suspects arrested over Dusit D2 attack

Suspected Al-Shaabab terrorists attacked the Dusit D2 Hotel building on Tuesday evening, killing 21 and injuring many others.

After the siege came to an end there was still fear over reports by families who had reported 50 individuals were yet to be found,Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) Secretary General, Dr Abbas  Gullet said on Wednesday.

This however ended in good news after all those who were missing were reported to have been found leaving only an important mission of finding those who were responsible for the attack.

13 people were, on Thursday, arrested in Mombasa in connection to the Dusit D2 hotel terror attack.

The operation was carried out earlier in the morning with detectives raiding a house where one of the attackers used to live.

According to reports, a terrorist suspect is said to have lived in the house for four months before shifting to Machakos and Kiambu.

Police raided a house where one of the DusitD2 attackers used to live in Bondeni, Mombasa, on Thursday at 3 am.

The suspect is reported to have sneaked from Boni Forest and lived in the house for four months before shifting to Machakos and finally Kiambu.

Investigators traced the house using records retrieved from a phone recovered from the car that was used by the gunmen, a police source privy to probe said.

County police boss Johnstone Ipara did not deny or confirm the claims of the raid.

“The operation is being handled from Nairobi. Let us wait and hear what they have to say,” he said.

It’s not clear what the police found in the house.The area is reported to be inhabited by a large number of people from the Somali community.
