Why terrorists use AK-47s?

Assailants identified as Shabab militants attacked a Nairobi luxury hotel and office complex on Tuesday, killing at least six people in the first apparent major attack by an al-Qaeda affiliate in the East African nation in almost four years.

The footage shows three of the gunmen dressed in black tops with green vests and Ak47 rifles.

In the footage, the suspected terrorists are seen signalling one another to take different positions as they fired indiscriminately to anyone on sight.

Avtomat Kalashnikova was invented by Mikhail Kalashnikov in 1947 after seeing the plight his country’s men faced compared to Germany’s army.

The gun has the following qualities.

It’s easy to use. Even a kid can be armed with one. You’ll know this when you come across African militia.
1.It’s easy to repair.
2.It’s durable. 20–40 years.
3.It’s very reliable.

4.It doesn’t jam like the regular rifle.Image result for Ak 47 gif

5.There’s a considerable amount of design clearance between moving parts so that foriegn particles won’t restrict it’s movements.
6.The USSR didn’t care about the copyright.
7.It’s considerably cheaper compared to others.

8.One might think that the AK-47’s wild popularity stems from pinpoint accuracy. Think again. The standard issue AK isn’t particularly accurate; it’s best in relatively close-range combat situations rather than distant engagements.

The USSR produced these rifles in the millions. Over a 100m, that’s about 1/5th the amount of firearms present in the world. The USSR supplied these to their allies and rebel groups that they supported and coupled with it’s durability , you can see that these guns are available in plenty. And finding ammo is pretty easy compared to others.

As I said the USSR were never concerned about the copyright. There are a lotta variations available. You know about the Chinese right. If they get their hands on something, they’ll copy the shit outta that thing and sell it cheaper. The AK-56 used to be a direct copy until they made some modifications. This just makes finding the rifle easier and cheaper.
