How police discovered cordoned off building in Ruaka where Dusit terrorist lived

Amidst the torture of trying to come to terms with yesterdays DusitD2 Hotel building,Riverside, the authorities are beating time in doing their level best to unearth the criminals behind the attack for justice and prevention of future repeat of the incidence as well as to ensure security for the fear stricken Kenyans.

In latest developments,detectives have located and cordoned off a building in Mucatha in Ruaka, Kiambu County where one of the terrorist lived for four months paying Sh40,000 in monthly rent.

In a raid conducted on Wednesday, police discovered a hole inside the house in which the attacker had kept several weapons.The neighbours described the man as friendly though he was rarely in the house.

One of the neighbours called the police after identifying the car that was abandoned near the DusitD2’s gate which was used by the five terrorists who conducted the deadly attack.

Police say they have intensified probe to uncover those who aided in the attack that has left 14 people dead.

The terrorist attack at the up-market mixed-use block on 14th Riverside Drive has claimed 14 lives and injured several others, President Uhuru Kenyatta has said, in an address to the nation.

President Kenyatta confirmed that all terrorists had been killed by the various security agents while condemning the act.

He thanked the security agents for swiftly responding and whisking people to safety.

President Uhuru Kenyatta who lauded acts of patriotism and courage in the wake of the attack said “My heart goes out to innocent men and women violated by the senseless violence.”

“Even as we regret yesterday’s incident, as Commander-in-Chief, I want to commend the quick and effective response by our elite fighting teams for neutralizing all the terrorists involved in the attacks.

“We have dealt with the threat decisively, and shown our enemies and the world that we are ready to deal with any threat to our nation,” said Mr Kenyatta.

He called on the public to remain vigilant and urged locals to report to the authority where they came across suspicious activity and people.
