PHOTOS: Raila, Ruto attend the Installation Ceremony of new Kisumu ArchBishop

 

Raila, Ruto, among other leaders today attended the Installation Ceremony of the New Kisumu Archbishop,  Philip Anyolo.

Philip Anyola is taking over from Archbishop Zaccheus Okoth who is retiring after a distinguished career.

The ceremony was attended to by several leaders including;  Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyongo, Moses Wetangula and was held at the  Uzima University College grounds.

Opposition party leader Raila Odinga said that the Church plays a key guiding role in our society and has made great contributions in the fields of education, healthcare and alleviating the plight of the needy.

Raila also congratulated the new Archbishop and wished him the very best and thanked the retiring Archbishop for his service.

The Deputy President William Ruto,on his end, said that the Government values the prominent role of the Church in building bridges of brotherhood, unity and ministering the peaceful coexistence among communities.

He also assured that the government will continue to support this noble endeavour that is a key pillar to realizing development and the country’s progress.
