How Luhya Nation appreciated Uhuru’s new maize prices

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday issued new directive on the prices of maize and the orders to the NCPB stores all over Kenya.

“Currently there is sufficient maize in the market selling @ between Sh 1,700 and Sh 1,800 per 90Kg per bag. With these interventions, I do not expect any changes in the existing price of Unga. I call upon investigative agencies to expedite verification to ensure timely payments,” he said.

He added that;

“Government interventions & good weather in 2018, have led to a bumper harvest of 46 million bags. 2.5 million bags were also carried over from 2017. The Government will therefore release 1.7 million 90Kg bags of maize @ Sh 1,600 & 300,000 bags of animal feed @ Sh 1,400 per bag.”

This move has got the ANC Leaders passing their gratitudes to the president. The ANC leaders in their press conference.

The group thanked Uhuru for announcing the new maize price of Sh2,500, up from the Sh2,300 per bag last year.

Speaking at the ANC headquarters, Savula welcomed President Uhuru Kenyatta’s pledge to initiate development projects throughout the country.

“We are not going to bed with Jubilee, but when we see something positive, we give our support to the government thus we support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s development plan,” he said.

“Being in the opposition does not mean that we will not be loyal to the President. The notion that development should go where the President hails from does not stand the test of time.”

The legislators urged Uhuru to remain firm and ignore the politicians dragging him down in 2022 politics.

The leaders said they will work directly with Uhuru to accomplish his Big Four agenda.
