Chelsea Speed Up Talks Over Gonzalo Higuain Swoop

Chelsea have pressed the accelerator in the chase to sign on-loan Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain and held talks with the striker’s brother on Thursday evening.

The Argentine hitman is Maurizio Sarri’s preferred target as the Chelsea manager seeks to bring in a new striker into his squad during the January transfer window.

Macedonian super-agent Fali Ramadani met Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici recently to discuss the possibility of the move for Higuain.

Alvaro Morata’s future at Chelsea remains under the scanner despite the club rejecting all offers and they want to find a replacement first before allowing the Spaniard to leave.

And according to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia, the Blues have stepped up on their efforts to take Higuain to Stamford Bridge during the winter transfer window.

Higuain’s brother is claimed to have held talks with Chelsea to assess the possibility of a deal this month.

The 31-year-old joined AC Milan on loan last summer from Juventus but his performances have not matched up to his billing at the San Siro.

The striker is believed to be unhappy with the Rossoneri and is interested in working under his former Napoli coach Sarri again.
