KPL Saturday preview: Will Mathare United end Tusker’s proud record at Ruaraka?

The Kenya Premier League Match day seven takes center stage this season with 8 matches line up. First up will be an early kickoff fixture on Saturday that will see bottom of the table Mount Kenya United welcome Coastal base side Bandari FC the Afraha Stadium from 2pm. Mount Kenya are yet to win football match this season hence their poor ranking on the table while Bandari are 4th on the log with three win and three draws from their first six matches.

All eyes will be at the Ruaraka Grounds where table toppers Mathare United take on third placed Tusker FC. Mathare United are yet to lose a league match this season but that record will be under serious pressure at Ruaraka where Tusker are yet to drop points this season.

Francis Kimanzi’s charges come to this match on the backdrop of a very impressive 1-1draw against the defending Champions Gor Mahia on Match-day 6. Tusker on the other hand are scoring goals for fun and  put three past Sofapaka in their last outing, this is a match that rarely disapoints and the early signs are that the sequence is set to continue on Saturday. The action starts at 3pm.

AFC Leopards will be at home to newbies KCB at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos from 4.15pm. Leopards are currently 10th on the log having won only one match this season while KCB are 17th and are yet to collect maximum points since earning promotion to the top flight.

Saturday’s last fixture will see Kakamega Homeboyz host Zoo Kericho at the Bukhungu Stadium from 4.15PM. Homeboyz are 9th on the log with seven points while Zoo are dangerously languishing just above the relegation zone with five points from the first six matches.
