Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been named Arsenal’s Player of the Month for December after getting 41% of votes cast by fans of the Gunners. The Gabon international won the award ahead of midfielder Lucas Torreira who finished second and defender Sead Kolasinac who finished third.
Aubameyang’s reaction, however, has left all reeling in laughter and also gave a peek into what’s going on in his head. He thanked the club for the honour, then went on to mention it was a good month except for the Liverpool match. “Thanks apart that sh*t game in Liverpool it was a good month,” he wrote in a tweet in response to Arsenal announcing the award.

apart that sh*t game in Liverpool it was a good month
Arsenal’s top scorer this season started the month in the best way possible with two goals and an assist in the 4-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby, following that up with an excellent assist for Torreira to score the only goal late in the Premier League match against Huddersfield Town.
Aubameyang returned to his scoring ways with two goals in the 3-1 win over Burnley, scoring another goal as Arsenal slipped to a 1-1 draw at Brighton & Hove-Albion. He was, however, in terrible form along with other teammates as Arsenal relinquished an early lead to fall 5-1 at Liverpool.
The striker is joint top of the Premier League scoring chart with 14 goals alongside Spurs striker Harry Kane. Both men are ahead of last season’s Golden Boot winner, Mohamed Salah, who has 13 goals. Aubameyang could also end the day with a bigger award as he is in line for the CAF African Player of the Year accolade, with Salah and Sadio Mane the other players vying for the award.
