Why Gor Mahia coach is an unhappy man

Gor Mahia head coach Hassan Oktay isn’t a happy man after the weekend average performance against former Kenyan Premier League champions Mathare United at the Kasarani Stadium where the team secured a one-all draw.

Speaking after the match, the angry coach blamed his striking force for wasting chances and insisted that they have to wake up soon because time isn not on their side as a team. He challenged the team to rise to the occassion and stop wasting chances.

“We had four, five clear chances and they are lucky. I am very upset as well. They dint finish the chances since we had great chances and one point isnt good enough for us now. It will however come and sometimes it takes time but definitely it will but we shouldnt drop points against this team [Mathare]. We have to start winning games as a team and that has to be soon,” he stated.

The team is currently eight on the log with 7 points having played 5 matches. They lost to Kariobangi Sharks and Bandari but recovered by beating Chemelil Sugar 2-0 on Wednesday 2nd January and drew Mathare United this weekend.

“We have been playing really well but luck hasn’t been on our side. I hope luck will be on our side this year (2019),” Oktay said after the team’s win over Chemelil at Kasarani.
