State House denies controversial Prophet Owuor’s claim Uhuru hired a chopper for him

Government denies hiring chopper for controversial Prophet Owuor

State House has denied claims that it hired a helicopter for self proclaimed prophet David Owuor after his three-day religious meeting in Nakuru. In separate story,it was reported that Owuor claimed that the president of Kenya had hired him a chartered chopper to facilitate his quick movement to a meeting he was to have with him.

State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena said that she was not aware of any meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Owuor adding that no chopper was hired for the prophet, Citizen Digital reported on Sunday January 6. “I am not aware of any such meeting (between President Kenyatta and Owuor). And none (chopper) was sent out,” said Dena.

The proprietor of Pro Flight Limited, (company of the chopper in question) Captain Neepe also indicated that there was no deal between him and the state. Neepe disclosed that the person who hired the helicopter for the man of God did it via social media and paid in cash.

The approach method, Neepe said is never used by government agencies that seek air travel services from his firm. “I have done a lot of business with State House before. They always send us an LSO (Local Service Order) and they pay after a while… and you can actually see on the bank account that it is from State House.

We have never dealt with them in cash,” said the proprietor. “It’s only individuals that we emphasize on cash because we don’t know them, but government bodies or parastatals we accept LSO because it is binding. This one was not State House.

With State House normally there are protocols, we get requests from procurement. In this case it was just an individual who called two to three days prior and paid,” Neepe added.
