Rachel Ruto, wife to Deputy President William Ruto has urged Kenyans to steer clear of conmen duping Kenyans off their hard earned money using her name.
She took to Twitter to make it clear to Kenyans that she was not running any competition that claimed to give free vehicles to Kenyans.
“I would like to alert the public of a scheme by con men and women using my name to purportedly give out vehicles in a fraudulent business promotion. I am NOT running any competition or giving out any cars,” she tweeted.
Rachel also urged Kenyans to avoid sending any personal details to the culprits or to anyone, to avoid repercussions.
“The page is a hoax, do not send any money or your personal information to anyone,” Mama Ruto urged.
Mama Ruto revealed that she had already forwarded the matter to the police who promised to take necessary action to nub the criminals.
“I have reported the matter to the Police and alerted the Facebook administration to take necessary action,” Rachael concluded in her tweet.
This is not the first time the DP’s family has been exposed to scammers impersonating their names to dupe Kenyans
In August 2018, Police arrested suspects using DP Ruto’s office details to scam Kenyans millions of shillings through a laptop project.
Over 700 laptops and three government vehicles attached to Ruto’s convoy were recovered in the operation.
