Mathare United Fire Shots At Gor Mahia Ahead of A Do or Die Clash For the Champs

Mathare United might have moved two points clear at the top of the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) standings after securing a convincing 2-1 win over KCB but the club is yet to come face to face with an opposition like Gor Mahia this season.

A penalty from Cliff Nyakeya and a close range finish from Clifford Alwanga at the Kasarani Stadium, moved Mathare up to 13 points.

Gor Mahia on the other hand secured only their second win of the season courtesy of a 2-0 win over Chemelil Sugar in a match day 5 encounter played at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Wednesday 2 January.

Midfielder Boniface Omondi created the opener which was thumped in by new signing Nicholas Kipkirui less than a minute after the restart before he (Omondi) sealed the points with the second goal just five minutes later.

Defending Champions Gor are now set to lock horns with this Season’s pace-setters Mathare United.

An Online war has already been started by Mathare who have trolled Gor Mahia with the Slum boys suggesting that Kogallo are already afraid of facing them heading into the round six KPL fixtures.

It still remains to be seen how the Gor Mahia will react to the online troll but knowing the Champions very well, they surely won’t let this pass just like that.

Gor Mahia are currently 9th on the Log with 6 points, 7 behind of League leaders Mathare.
