The Deputy President William Ruto has continued with his visit in the Western region with this time round visiting Bungoma and Busia. The Deputy President has been a welcomed guest in this region as he has spent most of his festive season visiting the region.
Bungoma is usually considered as Moses Wetangula’s strong hold. Wetangula is the former governor of Bungoma county . The Deputy numerous visits in his region is giving him a lot of headache.
The Deputy President held an open forum with leaders from the region and the citizens. He was accompanied by Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong , Senate Speaker Lusaka among other of his allies.
Speaking in the forum, the Deputy President insisted on the need of the country to embrace conscious politics. He urged the leaders to engage in politics without borders which is vital for the development of the region.

He also urged the locals and the leaders to join hands with the national government in making sure that the Big Four Agenda becomes a reality.

DP Ruto visit in the western region also has received criticisms from the ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi who claims that DP Ruto is dividing the region.
Musalia Mudavadi stated that DP Ruto is buying politicians from the region which will eventually create a rift in the luhya nation which is calling for unity.
