Tables turned; DPP Haji awaits his fate for arresting Ojienda

The High Court has on Monday temporarily stopped the intended prosecution of lawyer Tom Ojienda.

Justice Chacha Mwita said the court will determine if Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji acted legally in preferring fraud charges against Prof Ojienda.

The judge said it is in the interest of justice for status quo to be maintained pending the hearing of the case on February 18.

Mr Haji accuses Prof Ojienda of obtaining money from Mumias Sugar Company by false pretences through fake legal cases.

Haji had previously aligned evidence which he said it was enough to convict Tom Ojienda. But this will slow down his attempt to send the former Kidero lawyer behind bars.

Do you think court ruling will come in favor of Haji?
