Are Kenyans against the 2-6-3-3 education system?

The education system  debate is still on even though its implementation was held until further notice.

Yesterday, President Uhuru Kenyatta apologized for the confusion in the government  saying that there has been many voices and the government  will sit and agree on one thing, the way forward.

He however pointed that for now, the curriculum will continue as usual. Some celebrities have however weighed in saying that through the implementation of the new system will simply break the next generation.

“We’re sacrificing the future for ‘legacy’ and publishers profits. And we don’t care. Or we care, but we won’t resist this. It’s a sham and a tragedy in the making. The teachers are saying no but we won’t listen. I’m terrified for us.” reads Muthoni Drummer Queen tweet

From another opinion, they use the cholera analogy to describe the situation, ” 2-6-3-3 is choosing surgery to treat cholera. There are cheaper and more humanizing education remedies available, but we are impressed by GoK and the media talking of Germany, jobs, talent and digital. But the cost of this shock treatment will be borne by our children.”

Some teachers also strongly oppose this system for various reasons yet Kenyans have not shown so much concern to really understand what it is all about.

Some who are in support of it however say that there is not much benefit to the current system and  a number people are unable to apply what they learnt in real life situations.

It still remains a big puzzle and many hope that the system remains as it is.

What is your take? Do you think the suggested system will be worth or not?
