The Unprecedented Mammoth Crowds in Western Region Already Dancing the Ruto Tune

Deputy President William Ruto is of late making numerous trips to the Western Region in a bid to have the Communities votes all dropped to his basket.

Ruto has plans to become the Country’s President and just like any other Presidential Aspirant, the DP believes that votes from his stronghold (The Rift Valley Province) alone will not guarantee him the top seat.

The DP makes visits to the Western Region on a weekly basis with each of his trips coming with a great number of goodies to the People of Western. He is slowly but surely winning the hearts of the People from the Vote rich region.

His resolve to bring to his side die hard lieutenants like Boni Khalwale has also helped the DP a great deal with such leaders always pushing his agenda even when he is not around.

Yesterday, the DP was at the Homecoming Party of Sirisia MP Hon. Waluke at the Sirisia Stadium and what stood out was the mammoth crowd that came out to welcome the DP and his entourage.

The only other person known to pull such crowds is Opposition Chief Raila Odinga. Ruto on the other hand is aimed at ensuring all previous Raila Odinga loyalists change their stand and join his camp.

At Sirisia, Ruto termed plans to amend the Constitution as a daytime dream.

He laughed off plans for a referendum to change the supreme law saying Kenyans will not create more seats for “individuals who ought to retire from politics honourably”.

“As a country, we cannot change the law to have Kabuchai constituency merge with Sirisia or have some wards merging so that we create a position for someone in Nairobi,” Ruto said.

The referendum debate has seen Ruto rally his team to oppose the proposal as fronted by ODM leader Raila Odinga during the 2018 devolution conference in Kakamega.

Constitutional change is among the issues that the Building Bridges team – which was formed to steer his handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta – is taking views from Kenyans on.

Is Ruto already making major moves in the Western Region?
