Tanguy Ndombele has arguably become the most in-demand midfielder in European football over the last 12 months and it seems Lyon are determined to eke every penny out of their coveted starlet.
Lyon are notoriously difficult negotiators so it is no surprise that they will demand the likes of Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers pay top dollar for the 21-year-old France international.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are keen to sign Ndombele, with head coach Marco Silva and director of football Marcel Brands in agreement about the need for a dynamic central midfielder at Goodison Park.
Le 10 Sport meanwhile believes that Wolves have kept tabs on Ndombele alongside his Lyon team-mate Houssem Aouar.
But, speaking to the Express, Ndombele’s agent has now opened up on just how difficult it will be to snap up his coveted client.
“The club is asking for €80m (£72m),” Duro Ivanisevic said, while admitting that his client would be keen on a move to Italy.
“In January he will not move from the OL, but in the future they are situations that are contemplated.”
Needless to say, Everton and Wolves would probably have to shatter their transfer record if they want to bring Ndombele to either Goodison Park or Molineux in 2019.
In today’s market, you could argue that a player with Ndombele’s potential could one day be worth every penny.
