Dembele was fined £90,000 for turning up late to training. While his team-mates turned up on time for the session, the Frenchman was two hours late. Barcelona’s players think that he has great potential and hope that he can fulfill his talents. Dembele was late because he often enjoys playing video games and watching TV until the early hours of the morning.
Currently, Barcelona have banned young star Ousmane Dembele from turning off his phone when sleeping at night to prevent him from turning up late to training again in the future, as Barcelona’s manager Valverde wants him to be contactable at all times if another issue arises.
Inter Milan midfielder Radja Nainggolan has been suspended by the Italian club for “disciplinary reasons”. This decision was taken after the former Belgium international was late for training and not for the first time. Nainggolan has also been fined a substantial sum of money(about 10,000 euros) and will miss the Serie A game against Napoli at the San Siro on 26 December. Also, Nainggolan was dropped for a Roma match at the beginning of 2018 over a New Year’s Eve video in which he drank, smoked and cursed.
Compared with Dembele, Nainggolan was punished more seriously. The official website of Inter Milan even issued a statement about punishing him. Dembele will not want to play for Inter Milan if he knows how Nainggolan was punished after being late.
