Chief Justice David Maraga and his wife Yucabeth have felt loved and cared for by Kenyans including political leaders led by President Kenyatta, DP Ruto and Raila Odinga.
The CJ has continued to receive goodwill messages from various quarters of the country with many wishing him a quick recovery. One such people is opposition Chief Raila Odinga who wished the CJ a quick recovery and prayed that they recover in time to celebrate Christmas with their families.
“Wishing quick recovery to Chief Justice @dkmaraga, his wife and aides. I pray that they get well soon enough to celebrate Christmas and New Years with their families,” tweeted Raila Odinga.
The CJ has now decided to reciprocate the outpouring love and has sent a message of appreciation to all concerned parties that have shown love to him.
Maraga has thanked President for ordering his evacuation to Nairobi for comprehensive medical attention.
He has also thanked Raila Odinga for visiting him and praying with him.
The CJ and his wife were yesterday involved in a road accident but were lucky to survive having only sustained minor head injuries.
Maraga was rushed to War Memorial Hospital Nakuru after the accident.
Yesterday, the CJ issued a statement to the general public with the CJ confirming that him alongside his wife, their driver and aide were all okay.
Maraga thanked Kenyans for their prayers and concern.
“My wife and I were involved in an accident in Nakuru this morning on our way to Church. We are undergoing medical observation. My driver and aide who were with us are also okay. We thank God for His mercies. Thank you Kenyans for your prayers and concern,” said the CJ.
