News that Chief Justice David Maraga and his wife Yucabeth Nyaboke were involved in a road accident spread as fast as fire with the news sending shock waves among a number of Kenyans.
It has however been reported that the CJ is in stable condition after sustaining minor head injuries.
Maraga was rushed to War Memorial Hospital Nakuru after the accident.
The Supreme Court president was travelling with his wife to church in Ngata when their car was hit by another at Miti Moja.
Regional traffic commandant Ziro Arome said Maraga sustained head injuries but was stable.
He said the vehicle which hit the CJ’s car was speeding. The accident occurred at about 10.45am.
Plans are already underway to fly the Chief Justice’s wife to Nairobi for further treatment.
Maraga had gone to War Memorial Hospital to visit his bodyguard who is admitted to the facility.
Kenyans have wished the CJ a Speedy recovery with many calling for motorists to be more vigilant on the Roads:
