‘Yaliyo Ndwele sipite!’ Alfred Mutua mocks Wavinya Ndeti after court verdict

‘Truth and Justice always prevail.’ That was the message from Machakos County Alfred Mutua after the Supreme Court upheld his win in last year’s general elections.

The apex court ruled that the Appeals Court erred in nullifying the county boss’ win. Through lawyer Kioko Kilukumi, Mutua said the Appeal judges erred by nullifying the elections on grounds that it failed the test of constitutional verifiability. The court ruled that the governor was validly elected and asked his competitor Wavinya Ndeti to meet all costs of the case.

And now Mutua believes that justice has finally been served after his opponent using the courts to slow him down .

“For one and a half years, the people of Kenya have been fed with propaganda and malicious political action against me that has denied our people badly needed development. The legal system had been abused to slow us down but God has let his will to be known to all.” He said through his official Twitter handle.

He went ahead and asked his opponent to come and work with him to create wealth for the people of Machakos.

“We must now work day and night, with efficiency to create wealth for our people. I urge all leaders to put politics aside. I call upon my fellow Machakos leaders including Wavinya Ndeti to come we work together. After all, Yaliopita Si Ndwele, tugange yajao.”

We all remember Wavinya Ndeti saying Yaliyondwele sipite during the campaign period. In fact someone composed a song using this phrase.

Can Mutua and Wavinya Ndeti work together in the spirit of the handshake?
