Why Real Madrid is Jose Mourinho’s final destination

The shadow of Jose Mourinho continues to hover over Real Madrid. His sacking by Manchester United on Tuesday has brought a fresh batch of rumours linking him to the post, which he held for three years between 2010 and 2013. The Portuguese has a very good relationship with Florentino Pérez and José Ángel Sánchez, the club’s general manager, and that could open the door to a return to the bench of the Santiago Bernabéu says former Real Madrid player, Predrag Mijatović.

I see a great chance of him managing Real Madrid,” said Mijatović on Carrusel Deportivo. “Every time they changed manager, they were in contac with him. I hope things work out well for Solari but if the season ends and Real Madrid are looking for a manager, Mourinho has the chance because there aren’t too many managers.”

Mourinho left Real Madrid in 2013 with plenty of open conflicts in the dressing room. Amongst the players he had friction with were some of the heavyweights in the dressing room including Marcelo and Sergio Ramos. The Brazilian was asked about a potential return to the Bernabeu for Mourinho and he said “I have to thank him for what he did for me at Real Madrid but it’s not me who decides.”
