South American giants Brazil finished in third place after winning all of their games since the World Cup without conceding a single goal.
World Cup runners-up Croatia ended 2018 in fourth position in the FIFA rankings, one above Gareth Southgate’s high-flying England.

Portugal appear in sixth spot, followed by Uruguay before Switzerland, Spain and Denmark complete the top 10.
Argentina end the year outside the 10 highest-ranked nations in 11th position, while Germany finish one of the worst years in their history in 16th place.
