Sonko promises justice to victims of demolitions

Governor Mike Sonko has today assured victims that were affected with the recent demolitions that  he will ensure that justice is served for the illegal and  inhumane act.

The Governor today went to issue orders to stop demolition of buildings in Kayole estate where a private developer used fake title deeds to get eviction notices from our courts.

Sonko also said that he will pursue the matter in court and ensure the victims of this inhumane act get justice.

Sonko also said that it was not proper  for people to be  evicted during the festive season and to be left out in the cold.

He also revealed that the county government was not consulted over the matter.

He attacked the man behind the demolitions saying that  they have evidence that he is a land grabber and they will make sure that he is brought to book.

The government today announced that the  suspension is immediate and the they will give guidance after consultations  with all relevant state agencies and stakeholders.

“It is notified for the General Information of the public that the government had forthwith directed the immediate suspension if all demolition properties in all parts of the country until further notice.” reads statement in part
