Celebrated Nigerian artist Augustine Miles Kelechi popularly known as Tekno Miles is taking music break to recover from damaged vocal cords.
This after the ‘Pana’ hit-maker temporarily damaged his voice box due to strain caused by performing excessively.
Though the illness is not permanent, the singer has been advised by his doctors to rest his voice. He has apparently been ill for a while now but the condition has worsened, hence the doctor’s directive.
A statement from his management team indicates that while the “Duro” crooner may be out, he will be releasing a lot of music during the unspecified period during which he will not be performing.
“These past few days have been really trying times for your boy Tekno.
“He had tried to downplay the severity of his ailment hoping that it will be short lived but after further diagnoses doctor advised he should take time out to recover.
“His vocal cord is temporarily damaged due to strain from overtime performance and cannot sing or perform in a while.”
The statement urged fans to keep Tekno in their prayers, while promising new music from him.
“Please put Tekno in your prayers. Nevertheless he also wants to reassure his fans that they have nothing to worry about as he has put in so much work so a lot of music will be released this period.“Please send love and positive vibrations his way as this is a hard time for him” the statement read.
Recently, Tekno reached out to fans via twitter revealing that he’s had a difficult time since the incident.
“It’s been very difficult for me!” he wrote.
Few days ago the father of two released a new jam dubbed ‘ On you’ despite the recent medical reports that indicated that he had a damaged voice box.
