PHOTOS: Kenyans shocked by the state of Nyamavilla after Demolitions

The  state of Nyamavilla after demolitions have left many Kenyans in shock as it all looks lifeless and the destruction quite heartbreaking.

Many have been left homeless and even despite the fact that the demolitions have been suspended does not really bring back what has been lost by the families.

Buildings left in ruins and some of the people who had traveled to their rural homes for the festive season had no one to rescue their belongings.

A landlord had earlier narrated how some rogue youth on that day, took advantage of the  situation and  robbed off some of the items before the police came in to calm the situation.

The sorry state has not just displaced people but also is a great loss to the house owners who invested large sums on the projects.

The outcry by Kenyans is on the fact that the same offices that  might have authorized the buildings are the same that gave orders of the bringing down of the houses.

Perhaps some  corrupt officials  have eaten a huge share from this and the cry of justice not just to this particular incident is loud.

Following these demolitions, the government has today  ordered that no more should take place and residents should wait for fresh orders.

This is the demolition that led to the arrest of Embakasi Central Member of Parliament Benjamin Gathiru was  after he attempted to stop the ongoing demolition of structures at Nyama Villa Estate in Kayole, Nairobi.

The MP is said to have demanded to be given an eviction notice after residents complained that they were not informed of the impending demolitions.
