Kenyans plead with government to terminate SGR contract

Kenyans have today pleaded with the government to  terminate the contract they signed with China on the SGR project.

This is amid the  claims that the Mombasa Port might be handed  to China in a case where the government will fail to pay the debt.

Furious Kenyans have suggested that the government should consider renewing the contract and replace the SGR project with the latter.

Was the SGR project urgent? Kenyans fail to see the logic and the need to have a project on a loan yet  Kenyans have more challenges that still need to be addressed.

Challenges they say  were more important than the  transport project that has cause a bitter sweet mood for Kenyans.

The auditor general yesterday responded to these rumours saying that they did not issue any report which raised even more suspicion amid Kenyans.

“The government should terminate the signed agreement on Port of Mombasa acting as collateral and renew it with SGR if arbitration is to be done. Another corporation can’t be carrying burdens of the other corporation simply because of mediocrity.” one shouts on the streets of social media.

The report that leaked from the auditor general’s office suggests that, if kenya is unable to pay the debts, China will officially take over Mombasa Port.

Kenyans  have  united to say that they will not accept such mediocrity and will stand together to make sure that it does not get to the extremes.

Many have expressed disappointment and Kenyans have already initiated a campaign aimed at saving the Mombasa Port.
