How MPs Have Turned Ruto into a Cash Cow For Huge Political Bonga Points

William Ruto, the most talked about Kenyan politician who is loved and hated in equal measure has been visiting various parts of the Country as part of his now famous Tanga Tanga Movement.

The DP brings goodies with him everywhere he goes. From launching development projects to dishing out large sums of money in Harambees, Ruto has surely made a name for himself as a cheerful giver.

Of late, no weekend passes without the DP pitching camp at a given location in the Country. His reasons for doing so have always been to push Jubilee’s development agenda but political pundits see Ruto’s visits as ones aimed at pushing his 2022 Presidential agenda.

His Visits to various parts of the country always consist of a given contingent of Political leaders who have apparently already thrown their weight behind him.

Questions have however arose over the Political leaders’ level of loyalty towards Ruto. Are they really supporting his Presidential Bid or they are just out to mint his ever growing millions?

It has emerged that some of the MPs who hang around the DP, do so for their selfish interests especially when they are broke.

Sadly they position themselves for fat handouts whenever the DP is visiting their areas. Apparently, some MPs from the Coast region, where Ruto has made frenetic campaigns, were overhead celebrating that the leader will visit their region and were even rehearsing on what they will say in rallies to earn political ‘Bonga’ points as they grinned from ear to ear.

Interestingly, they only preach and sing Ruto’s name when he is with them in the region but when he flies away, the praises die a natural death.

Another leader who has been accused of riding the Ruto ship just for his Millions is former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale. Khalwale’s relationship with Ruto has been raising eyebrows with sources saying that his lifestyle has greatly changed since he became friends with Ruto.

Early this month, Khalwale joined Christians of Shitoli Catholic Church in Ikolomani where he delivered a car as a Christmas gift to their priest.

Khalwale’s gesture  raised eyebrows with a section of Kenyans calling him out for allegedly being influenced by William Ruto.

Khalwale has time and again said that he made the decision to support Ruto after realizing it will not be possible for any other candidate to defeat Ruto in 2022.

“I have long experience in Kenya’s politics and I know it’s not possible to defeat a government candidate in an election,” Khalwale said.

He has however said that he is not supporting the DP because of financial benefits.

The deputy President is known to reward his loyalists handsomely and there were claims that Khalwale joined his bandwagon to enjoy the fruits that come with supporting the DP.

“Please Church leaders I urge you to pray for leaders from my Luhya community who think I am in a commercial venture by doing what I am doing”, said Khalwale.
