Paul Pogba does the unthinkable on Instagram…after Mourinho sacked

Paul Pogba has rubbed salt into the wound of Jose Mourinho with a beautifully timed social media post following the Manchester United manager’s sacking, just days after leaving Pogba on the bench-but then quickly deleted it.

In a photo, the France international playfully stared sideways into the camera, while in the accompanying text he invited his followers to “caption this!” and included the hashtag #heretocreate – the slogan to a marketing campaign by his sponsors, adidas.

Jose Mourinho’s last game in charge of Manchester United was an embarrassing 3-1 loss to Liverpool with the Red Devils barely being able to put an attack together, other than the one goal.

Despite the lack of creativity in the side Paul Pogba remained sat on the bench for the whole 90 minutes with Mourinho deciding instead to start Ander Herrera, Nemanja Matic and Jesse Lingard and using Marouane Fellaini, Anthony Martial and Juan Mata as his subs.

It hasn’t taken Pogba long to troll his former manager with a wonderful social media post on Instagram and then quickly deleting it:

Pogba, who was benched on a few occasions by the former Chelsea boss in 2017/18, has now revealed that he did have some disagreements with Mourinho during the campaign, but nothing near as bad as what the media made out.

“This year was a better season than last year as I was more decisive,” the 25-year-old said, according to FourFourTwo.

“It is also true that I had a big injury. It is an experience. There were little issues with Mourinho, but they were nothing.

“These are things that make you grow. I never had a season where I was pushed aside, or they put me on the bench.

“It is also the choice of the coach, it is his job, I must accept. As I always said, the only answer is on the pitch.”

Pogba made 37 appearances for the Red Devils last season, scoring six goals and assisting a further 12 strikes.
