Jose Mourinho’s departure from Manchester United may have sent shockwaves through both the city and the footballing community as a whole, but could have had further repercussions into certain relationships that are currently intrinsic to the club’s image.

United midfielder Paul Pogba provided a very conspicuous social media post incredibly less than an hour after Manchester United revealed on their website that Mourinho had indeed left the club at 9:45am Tuesday.

Pogba’s message has either revealed more about his relationship with Jose Mourinho or been sensationally ill-timed if the player wanted to put on a diplomatic front to his manager’s departure.

Though the post has since been deleted, it attracted the attention of one Gary ‘Red Nev’ Neville, a true legend of the club and now respected football pundit.

Neville, remarkably, scathingly, referenced Pogba’s now infamous ‘Caption This’ comment with his smirking picture that had appeared earlier in the morning in the aftermath of the announcement and commented that with Mourinho gone, now Pogba could ‘do one as well’.

It is with amazing transparency as to Neville’s opinion of Man Utd’s record signing who has more often than not flattered to deceive since his massive £89 million move from Juventus to Old Trafford in 2016.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, after Mourinho’s sacking had been officially stated, Gary Neville had given a scathing account as how Manchester United has been run, even before the point of the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.

“There have been seven years of poor decisions, poor recruitment at the football club. The club needs to reset.

This is no just a moment to sack Jose Mourinho and appoint another manager, this is a moment for the club to take stock of what they’re doing.

Reset the club in terms of recruitment and decision making and make sure that what they do next is the right move. The next manager has to be the right manager and put the right structure as a manger.”

It is quite clear now, that Neville considers Pogba part of the problem that has been plaguing the most successful club in the history of the Premier League.
