Will 30 Million be enough for Chelsea to land Bournemouth’s MVP?

Bournemouth and England forward Callum Wilson is the subject of much speculation this morning as reports of a January move to Chelsea seem to gather momentum. Chelsea are keen to bring the goal scorer to Stamford Bridge for around £30m as they look to sign a top quality front man, someone who can take the place of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud.

Both of Chelsea’s current front men have failed to make that number 9 spot their own with Eden Hazard now preferred in a false nine role due to the lack of depth and quality in that area. It clearly is an area Chelsea need to improve but Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe isn’t expecting to sell his star man anytime soon:

“Yes, we are (confident),” He told gathered journalists at his press conference when asked whether they could keep hold of Wilson.

“At this stage we are just focusing on the matches, we have got so many games to come around the Christmas period, I am sure Callum is the same, he is focusing on his football.

“We are certainly not anticipating losing players in January that we don’t want to.”

“He seems very happy, he has a spring in his step, he is buzzing around the training ground and there is a very good feel about him.”

Wilson joined Bournemouth from Coventry for £3m and Howe was keen to boast about what a good deal it was for the Cherries.

“The fee at the time was discussed as a lot of money but when you compare it to fees now it looks a snip, doesn’t it?”

£30m would mark an incredible profit for Bournemouth but Howe clearly isn’t keen to let one of his big players leave without a fight. Maurizio Sarri may have a fight on his hands if he wants Wilson at Stamford Bridge.
