Veteran Swedish defender Andreas Granqvist has ruled out a move to Manchester United in the January transfer window.
The 33-year-old former Wigan center back was linked with a shock move to Old Trafford earlier this year with Jose Mourinho identifying him as an ideal short-term solution to United’s defensive woes.
However, all that seems like water under the bridge now as Granqvist himself has ruled out the possibility of a move happening.
Speaking to Fotboll Direct, he said: “With 99.9 per cent certainty, we can kill the speculation here and now.
“It would be quite sensational, but I don’t think it will happen. Then I do not know if I want to. It’s Helsinborgs I want to be.”
Granqvist was a rock for Sweden at the World Cup in Russia where he captained his nation to the quarter-finals, scoring two goals against South Korea and Mexico
