(PHOTOS) Frustrations as a Matatu blocks Embakasi bound commuter train

An Embakasi bound commuter train has been blocked this morning from passing by a city matatu at Taj mall round about in Pipeline estate.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to Daily Active Kenya this morning, the driver of City Shuttle, registration number KBR 780B was trying to find a short cut under the flyover where the railway line passes.

Efforts by passengers at the stage to tell him of the road’s condition under the underway service lane bore no fruits.

The driver, over confidently drove through the lane where he got stuck across the railway line, blocking the commuter train.

Efforts to get the matatu out of the place have been fruitless as none of the crackdown vehicles have been able. The situation has caused frustrations among the passengers who depend on the services of the train, with some opting for public service vehicles to town, which are slightly expensive compared to the train.

Regular and Administrative police have arrived at the scene, trying to control the situation. The train has been at the scene, unable to move, from 7: 00 am. Reports indicate that as part of settling the case, the driver will have to pay for the losses the Railways Authority has incurred by being stopped from ferrying its commuters.
