Is Kivutha Kibwana out to undermine Kalonzo Musyoka?

Reports have been emerging on an apparent rift between Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana.

Calls for Kivutha to run for the Presidency seem to be already getting into his head with the Makueni County Boss recently hinting that he would go for the Presidency as long as he gets the right support.

Kibwana has told off Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and asked his party leader to accept to be challenged in Ukambani politics.

The second-time governor said nothing stops him from contesting the presidency in 2022 despite Kalonzo-allied MPs threatening to crush him politically.

Kibwana dismissed the narrative asking the propagators to read the Constitution which has declared Kenya a functioning democracy. He said the Kamba community “cannot be forced to support a leader”

“Only in a monarchical system that there is no possibility for a designated leader to be opposed.”

Renowned Lawyer Donald Kipkorir has now joined calls urging the Governor not to jeopardize Kalonzo Musyoka’s chances of ascending to the Presidency by contesting against him from the Ukambani region.

Kipkorir has admitted that while Kivutha Kibwana is an honorable man with a stellar performance record, he should not give in to calls to run for Presidency.

“Prof. Kivutha Kibwana was my Professor in Constitutional Law. He was & still is an Honorable Man … His tenure in Makueni is stellar … But those whispering to him to run for Presidency or undermine Kalonzo Musyoka are False Oracles. The Good Professor should not Burn Bridges,” he tweeted.

Do you think that Kivutha Kibwana has what it takes to succeed Kalonzo as the Voice of the Kamba Nation?

Would you vote him in should he contest for Presidency come 2022?
