Arsenal boss reacts on reports of his players sniffing gas

After a video emerged online of some Arsenal players inhaling nitrous oxide or laughing gas as it is popularly known, manager Unai Emery has noted that the club is dealing with the issue internally and defended his player’s behavior.

Alexandre Lacazette, Mesut Ozil, Matteo Guendouzi and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were all pictured inhaling from balloons alleged to have contained laughing gas. Nitrous oxide is legal to possess, but it is illegal to sell it or give away. Arsenal had earlier on released a statement that read, “The players will be spoken to about this and reminded of their responsibilities as representatives of the club.”

In a press conference ahead of the Qarabag clash in the UEFA Europa League, Emery defended his player’s behavior, “The club said to you that the discussions are inside here between us, but for me the most important thing is to not lose the focus. Our focus first was on Huddersfield in our last match, the match tomorrow and on Sunday.

“I trust in my players and I trust that their behavior is good behavior and the most important thing is how I see them everyday training with big behavior and big commitment with focus on our work.”
