Shocker! Delivery guy eats clients take away order

Are you a foodie with self control? Well if you aren’t you might want to exercise the trait because a man who yielded to his temptations has suffered harsh consequences of job loss.

Takeaway delivery firm Zomato has apologised after one of its drivers was filmed eating a client’s food and resealing the containers in India.

The video, which was filmed in Madurai in southern India, shows a man wearing a Zomato shirt sitting on a moped eating food out of boxed orders then resealing them and putting them back into a delivery bag.

The video has been viewed thousands of times on social media.

Zomato said it has a “zero tolerance policy” towards food tampering and has sacked the delivery man in question.

In a statement Zomato acknowledged that the video suggests the man was eating food meant for customers.

The company said: “We have spoken to him at length and while we understand that this was a human error in judgement, we have taken him off our platform.”

Zomato also say they will soon introduce “tamper-proof tapes” and “educate their delivery fleet” as a further precaution against food tampering.

Meanwhile at home,safaricom is close to a law suit after their mpesa outage scandal angered plenty clients who have painfully decided to take action.

Martin Ndung’u, a subscriber, on Tuesday gave the mobile service provider until Thursday to admit culpability following the disruption of services.

The petitioner says the telco, after the admission, should pay its 24 million subscribers Sh10,000 each in reparation for the inconveniences during the downtime.

“Our client proposes that in preparation for the inconvenience, you credit each of the 24 million subscribers with Sh10,000 seeing that you move an average of Sh16.3 billion daily,”  the demand letter reads.

Ndung’u, through lawyers Gichuki Waigwa and Associates Advocates, said if Safaricom does not honour the demand, it will be sued for contravening the Customer Protection Act, 2012.
