Liverpool boss speaks on Mo Salah’s performance

Jurgen Klopp has said that he never doubted abilities of Mo Salah.

The Egyptian was in good form over the weekend and scored a hat-trick against Bournemouth. The last season league’s top scorer started the season on a slow note leading to suggestions he might be a one-season wonder. To Klopp, Salah remained a top player and he never doubted his capabilities an iota.

“Look, your business is a difficult one as well – you have to judge always the moment. I’m interested in the moment but I never judge it because the moment is just a little part of all what we do. So I was not for one second worried.

“We have to develop always and to confirm, or to prove again, a 41-goal season. Everybody would struggle a little bit with it. How can you prove it? If you score in the first five games 10 goals everyone would say: ‘It will happen again.’ But if you score 39, it would be: ‘Yeah, but it’s not 41.’ So we all have to learn to deal with it and of course he [Salah] has to as well. He has never had a season like that. And he wants to have the season again.” Klopp said.

Napoli will visit Anfield on Tuesday for the Champions League tie and the Reds have to win in order to progress and Klopp hopes his side will show why they are a better side.

“Napoli, we were not good there, so first of all, we would like to show that we are better than we played in Napoli. So we have to again ask for Anfield. We have to call Anfield and they should help us because that’s a really massive game,” he explained.
