Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen has always been quick to voice his opinion on various issues. Only yesterday, Murkomen took to Twitter to voice his displeasure with the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji on his decision to appoint Queens Counsel Khawar Qureshi as the lead Prosecutor in the ongoing case for Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu.
The idea of getting a foreign Advocate to prosecute domestic cases just before our Independence Day is totally misguided. If the DPP mistrusts all the Kenyan Lawyers he should just have led by example and prosecute the case himself.

“The idea of getting a foreign Advocate to prosecute domestic cases just before our Independence Day is totally misguided. If the DPP mistrusts all the Kenyan Lawyers he should just have led by example and prosecute the case himself,” said Kipchumba Murkomen in a tweet.
It didn’t go well for Murkomen this time as Kenyans on Twitter bashed him for the remarks he made about the DPP’s decision.
Take a look at some of the replies to Murkomen’s tweet:
When ICC lawyer Khan came and treated like a king in Eldoret were you misguided? The choice for foreign prosecutor was thought out and decision made on merit because of perceived partisan politics that Orengo & Okongo have portrayed it to.

I feel this is not enough…we should even get foreign politicians to replace leaders like you who make Kenya stink to the core due to corruption. We need more foreigners to come protect us from YOU and others…shame on you!

Hon murkomen let you not politicize this issue.we as Kenyans who bear the pain when our tax is being stolen by some individuals do support DPP Hajji to do whatever it takes for him to bring this Kenya to a sober mood

Counsel, during ICC cases your most trusted friends went for foreign lawyers- are you master of double speak?

We are tired of you guys lawyers, judges, politicians so corrupt, give us a break and let the DPP do his job he knows what he is doing and we are behind him.

If QC Quresh pays all taxes and executes his role within the confines of kenya laws led it be https://t.co/XwlgUIkzRY fact we need to hire foreign experts to audit kenya government. We also don't need presidential elections we can hire a foreigner to be our president.

Let the fight against graft proceed unhindered. Tobiko was there and he didn't even do anything. We accepted Cuban doctors, Chinese locomotive operators and fish why not a QC to help us apprehend these thieves. Kazi iendelee Pchumba!

From the look of things, Kenyans are really tired of corruption and are ready to fight it no matter the cost. Murkomen is just one of the many Kenyan leaders who are against the appointment of the Queen’s Counsel.
Leaders like James Orengo have also tried to challenge Haji’s decision to have a ‘foreign’ prosecutor in the case against DCJ Mwilu but their efforts have been futile as the Attorney General, Paul Kihara last week gave Qureshi permission to practice as an advocate in Kenya for this particular case.
Why do you think some leaders are against Qureshi’s appointment?
