Marvel fanatics all around the world are now counting down to April 2019 after Marvel today released the official trailer for the final Avengers film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s 22-film collection.
Avengers 4 finally has a name — Avengers: Endgame the last of the Marvel collection will be now be released on April 26, 2019 instead of the previously announced May 3, 2019 release date.
The trailer gives hints as to how some of the remaining Avengers are coping with the aftermath of The Snap. Tony is adrift in space, Hawkeye appears to be some kind of vigilante but a surprise visit from a friendly face is all it takes to give Steve and Natasha hope that the endgame has yet to come.
Disney’s decision to bump the film’s release date up isn’t too surprising considering the company used a similar tactic for Avengers: Infinity War earlier this year. This allows Avengers: Endgame’s release in both the UK and the United States to coincide with one another, making it an international event.
Avengers: Endgame was first rumoured as the official title earlier this year. “End Game” is an extremely popular title used in comics, making it a nice throwback for fans of various Marvel comic book series.
It’s still a pretty generic title, meaning hungry fans looking for something to dig into may be left disappointed. Endgame could also refer to this final stand between the villainous Thanos and the remaining superheroes looking to save the universe from total destruction.
