Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba, has responded to his manager, Jose Mourinho, calling him “virus” over the weekend.
According to The Times, Pogba hit back at the lack of options in the midfield during Southampton clash, and said he had no-one to pass to because Mourinho’s tactics do not allow players to move freely around him.
Mourinho labelled his record signing, Paul Pogba, a ‘virus’ and hit out at the negative effect he has on the rest of his teammates and his lack of respect for the shirt. The report claimed that the France international did not react angrily to Mourinho’s criticism and delivered his own critique in a calm manner, with the disagreement never getting out of hand.
Pogba will hope to lead United to victory when they tackle Arsenal on Wednesday in the Premier League fixture.
Jose Mourinho will make at least one change to the starting XI on Wednesday night when Manchester United host Arsenal at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
That’s because Ashley Young is suspended for the 20:00 GMT kick-off, after the England international received his fifth yellow card of the campaign in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Southampton, meaning he will now serve a one-match suspension.
Portuguese prospect Diogo Dalot could take Young’s place at right-back against Arsenal, after making his Premier League debut as a substitute at St. Mary’s following a period of injury.
Alexis Sanchez will not face his former club after Mourinho confirmed the Chilean is unlikely to play again this year, with the injury that he suffered in training last Thursday.
The boss has expressed his hope that Marcus Rashford will shake off a knock, after he was substituted as a precaution at the weekend.
“He was injured, he was asking to come off,” Jose said after the draw at Southampton. “Some players with that kind of injury do not play for two weeks. But Marcus, I am pretty sure he will be fine for the next one.”
