Salah set EPL target but is it achievable?

Mohamed Salah has backed Liverpool to end their trophy drought this season and Manchester City fans may frown at suggestion that Liverpool can wrestle the premier league title from them this season.

The Reds have not lifted any silverware since winning the League Cup under Kenny Dalglish in 2012, with Jurgen Klopp yet to get his hands on a trophy despite reaching the final of the Europa League and Champions League during his tenure.

Liverpool have already been eliminated from the EFL Cup and find their Champions League hopes hanging by a thread this season, but Salah is confident that they can end the campaign with something to show for it.

“My target last season was not only to break the [goalscoring] record but also to win something with the club,” Salah told Sky Sports News.

“We were very close in the Champions League final but this is football, we have to accept the result. This time also I can’t say my individual one but my target now is to win something for the club.

“This would be huge for us as a team and as players. It’s also a dream for the city and for the fans. I think this season we are going to do something.”

Salah scored 44 goals for the club last season, including a record 32 in the Premier League, while he has scored nine goals in 19 Liverpool outings so far this term.
